"What an absolutely wonderful doctor Alden Tetlie is! My wife and I, and eventually our children, began seeing him about 20 or 30 years ago and every time we visit him he is the epitome of what a knowledgeable, caring, intelligent doctor should be. He always takes the time to listen and answer questions, and always knows exactly what to do. We are lucky to have him as our physician, and Entira is lucky to have him in your system." Bob

National Mental Illness Awareness Week

By Heather LaBere, MD

Mental Illness Awareness Week (MIAW) was established in 1990 by the U.S. Congress in recognition of efforts by the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) to educate and increase awareness about mental illness.

It takes place every year during the first full week of October. National Depression Screening Day on October 8th encourages the community to take a screening at http://www.helpyourselfhelpothers.org/.

About one in four adults suffer from a diagnosable mental illness. The goal of Mental Illness Awareness Week is to create community awareness and discussion in an effort to put an end to stigma and advocate for treatment and recovery.

Entira Family Clinics’ providers take care of the whole person, including behavioral medicine and mental health. Our providers offer care and treatment for patients with depression, anxiety, and many other behavioral problems, whether acute or chronic. For more information, go to Entira Family Clinics.

Four of our clinics also offer on-site appointments with psychologists from Midwest Center for Personal Development. This arrangement provides our patients with better and more convenient access to mental health counselors, as well as improved communication between their provider and therapist.

                       Congratulations, Dr. Timothy Hernandez!

Congratulations to Dr. Timothy Hernandez for his Citizen’s Medal of Merit awarded by Mendota Heights Mayor Krebsbach.  Dr. Hernandez who is also an assistant football coach at St. Thomas Academy worked with the trainer to keep a young boy alive after his heart stopped last year until emergency personnel could arrive.

“It is truly a miracle that Stuart is alive,” Hernandez said when talking about the event.

                                Community Involvement

Dear Patients-

After 41 wonderful years practicing medicine, I retired as of June 30, 2015.

I started at the Gorman Clinic (West St Paul) in July 1974 when it was located on Gorman Avenue in West St. Paul.  In 1976, the clinic moved to its current location. In those 41 years, I have delivered hundreds of babies, watched as the infants grew into adults and delivered a second generation of babies as well. Read more.

                                   Congratulations, Dr. Ryan Dick!

Dr. Ryan Dick was the number one doctor picked
in Blooma's Care Providers of Distinction Award. This was their second annual survey of Blooma's patients and partners, asking which care providers in the Twin Cities made them feel heard and empowered before, during, and after their birth experiences.

             Community Involvement

Our Highland Clinic used their 2014 jean money (employees pay a dollar to wear jeans on Fridays)
and donated to the MPS III Society in honor of the Kell family for research. MPS III is also known as Sanfilippo syndrome.

West St. Paul providers and staff enjoyed a beautiful day at the West St. Paul Grand Parade on May 16. It was a great day to connect with the community, see familiar faces and meet new ones!

Our Highland staff enjoyed seeing our patients that cheered us on during the Grand Old Day Parade. It was a great day for a parade!
